1. Use raid1 (mirror). +Nobody have 100% guarantee on the work components. Using of this device in any case more reliable that hard disk.
2. I'll test it soon and may be make a separate post (with additional information about other devices i tested).
3. I have some NAS ) and also i can any time change disks, because there are hot swap.
4. There are only S.M.A.R.T tool inside, also monitoring tool (RAIDar).
